As stated by Mohammad, “Rajah’s story is an incredible series of events that would be hard to believe if they weren’t real. For a Black kid from the inner city setting up what most would call a “video game” on his laptop that enables him to become a NASCAR driver — it’s a story worth telling in a pure and grounded way.”

Covering the audio side of things, we will set out to enhance the storytelling of the project by crafting a score that weaves elements of trap music with larger cinematic movements across the story arc. Below are a few examples of our work containing different elements that are somewhat analogous to this proposed project.

Slang, Campaign Launch

Slang is the ultimate sneaker marketplace, that sits right on your phone. Whether your thing is Air Jordan III's or Vintage Adidas Forest Hills, this is the place for sneaker freaks. Hailed by Hypebeast, Complex, Highsnobiety, Sneaker Freaker, and The Source, this anthem campaign spot was created with Los York to kick off the launch of the app. The idea was to embody the vibe and spirit of this unique part of street fashion and culture.

Black Future, Beats

To deconstruct the impact and importance of Black culture on America, Beats decided to look forward instead of backwards, enlisting three young creative minds to expand on what the future of African-American culture is, and how to get there. Guided by Mereeba’s lyrical vibe, we work our way through our interviewees stories.

 

New Balance, We Are Beta

The goal was to create a launch campaign for the forward facing athletic company, New Balance. The "We are Beta" campaign highlights that fact that we are all a work in progress, and to get the most out of ourselves, it takes work. The picture and sound reinforce this maximum effort mantra with signs of running in the red-- glitches, drops in resolution, static and interference.
